Video Game Audio Engineering – July 17 to 20 2023

While playing your favorite video game, have you ever thought, “who creates the melodies, explosions, theme songs, and other sound effects for video games?” If you have asked these questions, then we have the class for you. Welcome to the Video Game Audio Engineering summer camp at The Tech STEAM Center! In this weeklong adventure you will learn about the tactics used by the professionals when working with audio clips. You will experience sample segments from some of your favorite video games. Sound effects, melodies, and theme music are used to evoke a certain mood or emotion. With the help of our experienced instructors, you will learn how to overlay “sound tracks” to video clips in order to evoke certain emotions from your audience. You will start with the basics of creating digital sounds and even explore foley art. Foley Artists use creativity to make viewers believe that the sound effects are actually real!
At the end of the program, you’ll have the chance to showcase your creations to your family and friends and demonstrate what you’ve learned throughout the week. You’ll leave with a better understanding of video game audio engineering principles. Come and join us this summer and have fun learning and creating at The Tech STEAM Center!
