Game Programming with Roblox and Minecraft – Temecula Camp – July 31 to August 3 2023

Welcome to the Game Programming with Roblox and Minecraft summer camp at The Tech STEAM Center! Are you ready to take your love for gaming to the next level and learn how to create your own games using two of the most popular game development platforms out there? With Roblox, you’ll learn how to design, develop, and publish your own games. You’ll start with the basics of game programming and gradually work your way up to more advanced topics, including game mechanics, scripting, and level design. You’ll have access to a powerful introductory game engine and an impressive library of pre-built assets that you can use to create games, some with stunning graphics and engaging gameplay. You’ll learn how to use Lua, the scripting language used in Roblox, to create custom game mechanics, handle user input, and build interactive environments. With Minecraft, you’ll have the chance to embark on the exciting world of exploration and learn how to create your own custom game content. You’ll learn how to create and build custom complex structures and customize “agents” within your world. Throughout the week, you’ll work on a variety of game themes and sandbox worlds. With the help of our experienced instructors, you’ll learn how to use Roblox and Minecraft to create games that are both fun and challenging, while also learning how to collaborate effectively as part of a team. In addition to game programming, you’ll also learn important coding skills like problem-solving, debugging, and project management. You’ll work with other students to develop games that are both fun and challenging, while also learning how to collaborate effectively as part of a team. At the end of the program, you’ll have the chance to showcase your games to your family and friends and demonstrate what you’ve learned throughout the week.
